Dammar Resin from Indonesia
Damar (or Dammar) is a white resin, originating from Asia, widely used for the manufacture of varnishes. It is also interesting for fumigation. It produces an odour similar to Chios putty at a much lower price.
It is a resin that can be burned on even very hot charcoal tablets without altering its fragrance. The resin melts on the charcoal and disappears inside the charcoal as it continues to smoke.
The word Dammar comes from the Malay language and means light. It is a resin with a lemony scent, which should be burned in cases of melancholy, sadness, unhappiness...
