Other natural resins

Greek Mastic tears, Socotra dragon's blood, Palo Santo from Peru and other essential resins

There is an infinite variety of resins and gums in the world, from as many trees. Some are of little interest, while others are remarkable for their virtues or their perfumes. The best known are certainly frankincense, myrrh and benzoin, which is why they have been given their own category. All the others, and not the least, are gathered in this category: Copal from Mexico (copal blanco or negro), Mastic from Greece, Guggul from India, Dragon Blood from Socotra or Indonesia, Damar, etc. Every people in the world uses one resin or another, one plant or another, for protection, purification, etc. It should also be noted that many gums and resins are used in the manufacture of dyes, lacquers, varnishes and even medicines.
